Introducing VersaWorks 7: The World’s most popular RIP

Hansen Supply is excited to announce the release of Roland’s VersaWorks 7, now available for both Mac and Windows operating systems. ​ This latest version, launching on March 27, 2025, brings a host of new features and improvements designed to enhance your printing experience. ​

Key Features of VersaWorks 7: ​

Dual Screen Interface: ​

• Home Screen: Monitor printer status, ink levels, media dimensions, and job progress. Manage up to four devices, add or delete printers, and explore media settings. ​
• Main Printer Screen: Access job lists, settings, and previews with brief printer monitoring.
• Select light or dark theme for a more modern UI.

Optimized Printer Registration: ​

• Streamlined installation process with reduced file size and storage usage. ​
• Requires a one-time internet connection for downloading printer drivers and color profiles. ​

Comprehensive Printer Status Overview: ​

• Access Roland printer specifications, settings, and operational status from a single screen. ​
• Features include media explorer, printer color matching, and job status view. ​

Enhanced Job Management:

• View all active queues and job statuses. ​
• Export jobs to Roland DG Cutters with an easy-to-use context menu.

Improved Navigation and User Interface: ​

• EPS Margin settings moved to the layout tab. ​
• Special color plate controls added to the quality tab. ​
• New color management tab for job settings. ​

Queue Settings Control: ​

• Manage specifications for all queues from one screen.
• Search jobs across multiple print queues ​​

Advanced Color Profiles:

• Default simulation ICC profiles include GRACoL2006_Coated1v2.icc, ISOcoated_v2_eci.icc, and eciCMYK.icc.

Performance Enhancements: ​

• Up to 62% more addressable memory for processing jobs with up to 8gb of usable memory.
• Optimized HD usage requiring up to five times less storage. ​

Backwards Compatibility: ​

• Load previous version VersaWorks files into version 7. ​
• Support via VersaWorks 7 Help menu on both Windows and Mac. ​

Installation Process:

VersaWorks 7 can be installed via the Roland DG Connect Hub, requiring a one-time internet connection for downloading necessary files. ​ Once you have installed, logged in and updated DG Connect Hub there will be a link to download VersaWorks 7. Both instances of 6 & 7 can be installed on the same PC. We recommend using the "initialize" VersaWorks 6 application and creating a backup. The initialize app is usually located on the C drive under: "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start_Menu\Programs\VersaWorks\Initialize_Application.lnk". Select backup after opening the application and put it in an empty folder for easy access. Once VersaWorks 7 is installed navigate to the VW7 Data Management application usually located here: "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start_Menu\Programs\VersaWorks_7\VW7 Data Management.lnk". Migrate the data into VersaWorks 7 by clicking the restore button and navigating to the folder that contains the saved version 6 data.

Offline installation options are available with manual license authentication.
