Often times most head strikes are caused by improper media alignment in your Roland printer. To avoid media tracking issues follow these quick tips and watch the video below.

Leave yourself plenty of margin. For most applications leaving at least a half inch from the edge of the media with your pinch rollers is recommended.

When loading the media pull the media through the printer from the center until it hangs 1-2ft past the platen. Use your hand on the back flange and roll the media backwards until it straightens out the media and lower the pinch lever.

Never rely on the leading edge of the media to load the material straight. Often times the media has not been cut square from the factory or the media was cut off the printer crooked.

Always use your edge media guides and keep them clean to avoid bunching or dragging on the media.

Your outside pinch rollers on a Roland print/cut device are consumables. These wheels will wear over time. Please contact Hansen Supply to order replacements.

The vacuum suction on the printer platen is adjustable. A delicate balance of force must be used to keep the media down flat and keep the media moving through the printer. Adjust the vacuum force when necessary.

Not all medias track well. Some materials will not feed and cut well in a roll printer. Work with your Hansen Supply Rep. to find a material for your application that works best in your printer.
